Cable Beach

Broome's most well known beach is definitely Cable Beach. It is known for its turquoise waters and white sand. Cable Beach is much different than the other beaches I have been to here in Australia in that people are there at all times of the day. At Monkey Mia and Shark Bay the beaches were more for looking at rather than swimming in and they were also much more secluded. Cable Beach is a "family friendly" beach, much like the beaches at home. The water is perfectly clear and the waves are calm with hardly any undertoe. The water is not only safe, it is so warm! They said the water this time of year is around 27 degrees. That is only 5-10 degrees colder than the air temperature. One could literally spend all day in the water.. Felt like bath water...
We landed in Broome at around 11:30 am and we were at the beach no later than 1 (that was after getting our luggage, calling a taxi, and checking into our hostel). We found the beach in less than an hour (: It was very convenient because the beach was only a 2 minute walk from the hostel. We spent the entire first day at Cable Beach. A great way to start out the trip!

No Sharks (:
We love Broome!
