The second day in MM Nic thought it would be fun to go deep sea fishing. I had never been fishing before..ever..so I was a little hesitant at first. Basically we were with a bunch of men who reminded me of Larry the Cable Guy.. I was the only girl besides one other older woman who was with her husband so I was a little intimidated.
Nic caught a fish first before me and I was so proud. I'm pretty sure the rest of the boat wanted to throw me over because I was cheering so much. The only fish that were caught all day were red snappers.

Then I caught my first fish!! I was so excited! I have to say though, it really put up a fight. I could hardly reel it in. Eventually I did and again, I think the rest of the boat was annoyed because of my squealing.. but it was so cool! I actually caught a fish! I didn't like that it was bleeding so much though.. I didn't even know fish bled. The guy in the red is obviously really happy to be in my photo (:

The bait was disgusting.. Basically it was just fish guts and heads.. I decided that the best combination of bait is 2 fish heads and 1 guts (that was my special secret). This is a picture of the skipper undoing the bait from my fish.

Time to take a picture!

So happy!

This was Nic's second fish. It turns out this one was too big for him to keep. They keep the really big ones for breeding. This fish is almost bigger than him!

Now, my second fish! This one was almost too big.

At the very end I caught my third fish of the day! Its tradition to kiss your fish before you throw it back in the water and since this fish was too small to keep I gave it a little smooch! I tied with one other guy for catching the most fish! Must be beginners luck!

At the end of the trip, we gave our fish away to the others. They kept insisting we keep what we caught but honestly? would I prepare red snapper? No Way! I would rather pay somebody to make it for me. Luckily, the others were happy to take them. Between Nic and I we had 3 fish to give away! Pretty successful day if you ask me!
